Best of Life Is Analog: Polaroid Flip's Influencer-Led Launch

Brainlabs

Polaroid briefed us to launch its Flip camera to "experience seekers" and "creators", positioning it as a creative reset for an audience fatigued by screens, deliberately steering away from a nostalgia angle Polaroid didn't want attached to the brand. We built two creator archetypes to bring that positioning to life: Explorers, who showed analogue's creative depth through cinematic travel content, and Storytellers, who proved it fit into an ordinary week. Every creator included their own exclusive discount code, turning authentic storytelling into a directly trackable route to purchase without it ever looking like an advert. Paid media on TikTok and Instagram then ran as a genuine funnel, from reach through to a deliberate small-scale conversion test, rather than a blanket push for sales.

The results proved the idea, not just the media plan. Paid link clicks landed 2.4x target, with click-through rates up to 2.8x forecast and cost efficiency beating goals across both layers of the funnel. More tellingly, sentiment analysis found audience comments describing physical photos as "more meaningful" than digital ones, unprompted, echoing the exact emotional reset the campaign was built to prove. Purchases were tracked directly to individual creators via their codes, giving a clean, attributable line from content to sale. The campaign didn't just reach its targets; it got a fatigued, digital-native audience talking about analogue in their own words.
