How Google Nest is marketing to UK housebuilders and installers and helping them tap into the smart home revolution and in the process offering sustainable and cost-of-living friendly solutions to home buyers.

Nest, the smart home brand from Google is very much a consumer brand but over the past 12 months has managed to drive advocacy and sales in the B2B Pro channel - specifically, housebuilders, building merchants, electrical and heating wholesalers and their business customers, builders and installers. To achieve this, Google Nest strategically partnered up with a leading builders merchant in the UK. Key to this was a high-profile, high-impact roadshows were undertaken using a branded bus repurposed as a mobile smart home to demonstrate products in situ and provide an engaging training venue and experience. Bringing the showroom onsite to provide a full Google Ecosystem Helpful Home experience - "Hey Google, show me the front door camera. Ambitious in its reach, the campaign engaged with a number of different audiences by doing something totally different in the housebuilder/installer channel. By proactively educating the channel, it is realising that smart home solutions from the brand are an opportunity to help market and sell homes. As an example of the impact achieved, Bellway Homes have installed Nest smart products across 3 trial sites totalling over 700 homes.
